Dear brethren, I would like to take the time to thank in particular your brother JD, A.McCluckie (Sandy) who talked me into getting back into freemasonry after an absence of 15yrs. In the 5 weeks since I have been back to my mother lodge elgin at leven no.91 I have stood in as J.D. been installed into sleeping office, been sub candidate at 776 at a 3rd degree, learned up N.E.Corner,1st tools,2nd T-board (could'nt believe how quick they came back to me) and even been on the floor doing 1st tools lecture,(what a buzz it gave me) I've been told I am getting to do 2nd T-board on Tues 12/01/10. To think this is all happening to me after this long spell, I just want to take this opportunity and give a big THANK YOU to my workmate brother JD A.McCluckie, (hope I make the chair that would be a good way to pay Sandy back) fraternal greetings, Glyn

I give to the members of Lodge Randolph 776 the best wishes from Lodge Clyde 224 in Whyalla South Australia. In this lodge i was Worshipfull Master but lack of members we have now closed down.I served my first, second and master masons degree plus my Mark Master degree at the lodge in Buckhaven in 1959.I have been in Australia for 37 years and when I was on holiday in 1984 I paid a visit to my mother lodge in Buckhaven where I was warmly welcomed.I was presented with my 25 year badge at Lodge Clyde and I am wondering if it is at all possible to be ableto receive my 50 year badge from my mother lodge. After you hve checked your records I would be very grateful to hear from you.May I wish Lodge Randolph 776 all the happiness in the years to come.

I was dorment for a long time, then when the lodge Alba Gu Brath 1802 was consecrated,I joined them a year later.I enjoy searching through masonic web sites, just to see how this wonderful fraternity is spread globaly.Great to be a part of this brotherhood, I will probably never meet any of your members but always remember, that we all bent the left bare knee . Regards, God Bless you all and when we go to the Grand Lodge above, we will surely meet and part in harmony. Happy as we meet Happy as we Part.

Subject:Robert Thomson
Gentlemen, I hold in my hands a document entitled “Lodge Randolph No. 776” stating that “The Grand Lodge of Scotland of Free and Accepted Masons Hereby Certifies that Brother Robert Thomson Has been enrolled A Life Member” It is dated the 18th day of March AD 1920 and is signed by John Barker R.W.M David Thomson Secy. James Beveridge Treas. Robert Thomson was my mother’s father. According to his passport he emigrated from Buckhaven, Fife in April of 1920, bringing his wife (the former Nellie Ventors) and 3 children John Alexander (age 11), Nancy Baxter (age 9) and James Ventors (age 7) and brought them to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. That is where I am writing to you from today. His daughter Nancy eventually met and married James Donald Black, whose family also originated in Fife (West Wemyss). They became my parents and that brings me to this. While I have some living relatives on my father’s side still in Scotland, I have very little information or documentation regarding my maternal grandparents. I am trying to assemble some family history to pass on to my children. Of my three daughters, the youngest, Lauren Thomson Black, felt compelled to take up competitive Highland Dance and has been to Cowal twice now for the Worlds. They feel their roots. I strongly believe in the importance of such things, but the clues that I have been left are vague and often confusing. And the trail is growing very cold. Except for this piece of history printed on what appears to be vellum. If there is any information contained in your records regarding Robert Thomson that you are at liberty to divulge, I would be most appreciative. Even an address would be helpful. If not, then thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely Yours, John David Black
